The Public Health team within East Riding of Yorkshire Council are recruiting to a Public Health Officer position, to support Public Health Leads - Health Improvement, with the coordination and implementation of public health activities including promotion of services, influencing change across a network of services and developing supportive material to ensure public health messaging is easily available.
The successful candidate will support across a range of Health Improvement activities including delivery planning, development and implementation of policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines and providing advice and guidance.
They will work as part of a multidisciplinary Public Health team and be required to work closely with external partners and key stakeholders to ensure health needs are met within the community.
The successful candidate will require experience in partnership working in professional and community settings. They will have experience influencing others to lead a healthier lifestyle and will be aware of campaigns and messaging that are endorsed by the NHS and Public Health.
The successful candidate will need to have extensive knowledge about our local area and health and wellbeing throughout the life course. They will need to be able to interpret health needs and be able to write reports and business cases.
Applicants must therefore have an understanding of the government, Public Health England and other public bodies’ agenda around Public Health and health improvement.
