We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

We are looking to recruit a first-rate public affairs professional, able to help one of the world's most influential education organisations grow its impact.

About the role

Shaping a critical new role, you will be a public affairs specialist who understands how to influence decision makers and policymakers at a senior level.

You will develop and manage public affairs strategy, policy communications and related campaigns across Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

Working with the Global Director, External Communications & Brand and the Head of Strategic Communications, you will keep senior leaders across our organisation informed of education, skills, assessment, and publishing policy changes and other relevant developments in government and Parliament to support them in their roles.

About you

A strategic thinker with excellent political nous, you will provide tactical insights into and monitoring of the UK Government and Parliament, grow our relationships across the political and policymaking spectrum, and help us inform key stakeholders about our impact and role within assessment, publishing, education, research and learning. We are a global organisation and a crucial part of the UK's success as an education powerhouse.

You will be comfortable providing first-rate written and oral communications, policy, research and stakeholder management skills. You will have a track record of political experience and influence, such as working for an MP, as a political advisor, for an agency or in an in-house public affairs role (e.g. for a charity, trade body, business or campaigning organisation).
