Le Wag is a leading Dog Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique in West London, serving people and their dogs. We provide dog grooming services of very high standard, dog day care and dog walking services. Due to our expansion we are looking to grow our team to accommodate the increasing demand to serve our community of dog lovers. This is a rare opportunity to join a team for the opening of a new location and grow within the team.

We are looking for experienced Dog Groomers, Junior Dog Groomers and Dog Grooming Assistants to join the team. Candidates should all have experience working in a similar environment. We are looking for a creative and reliable team to grow within the business. There is an opportunity to learn and gain skills from our Head Groomers, we encourage the team to attend seminars, competitions and workshops.
The ideal candidates will have excellent customer facing skills and an absolute love for animals and their wellbeing.
Job Overview
As a Dog Groomer Assistant, you will be required to handle many duties such as preparing dogs following Dog Groomer’s instructions, maintaining the grooming areas clean and safe, assisting Groomers with any requests, welcoming and greeting clients.
As a Dog Groomer Assistant, you will also be responsible for many other duties as per the requirements of the employer, and you will have to do all of them with great care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare dogs (and cats) to a high standard (incl. Bathing, blow dry, de-matting, nail clipping, ear plucking/cleaning, trimming pads and hygiene)
- Being able to handle any dog brought into the salon
- Being able to understand pet owners' instructions and respond appropriately
- Being an advocate for animals
- Being able to follow Groomer’s instructions and directions
- Being a reliable and supportive team member
- Maintaining salon cleanliness alongside strict animal hygiene practices
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Qualifications
The below qualifications are required to fo this job:
- One year of similar experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others
- Knowledge of different breeds
- Willingness to learn
- Confidence to be firm but fair in handling different breeds and sizes of dogs and deliver the very highest standard of pet care
