Princess Royal University Hospital encompasses an acute site, there is opportunity to rotate through General radiography (including a busy A+E department), theatres, mobiles and Fluoroscopy. We also provide imaging services at two community hospitals, allowing a broad range of experience and development. Upon joining our department, you will receive training to be part of the vetting team, ensuring requests are justified in line with IR(ME)R regulations.

Our Radiology department is undergoing an equipment replacement project which includes; a state of the art DR X-ray room, C-Arms, IR/cardiac lab with cone beam CT and new CT and MRI scanners.

This post is open to applications from qualified Radiographers and undergraduate student radiographers due to qualify in 2023.

You will contribute to the out of hours shift system, operational 24/7 Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays and religious festivals.

We operate on a 4 day working week, Night duties based on a three shift (Sun-Tue, Wed-Fri) or single (Sat) shift pattern

Successful applicants can expect to train and rotate through various sections of the department including; x-ray imaging services for GP and outpatients,trauma, inpatients and Special procedures using static and mobile x-ray units and Static and mobile fluoroscopy Units.We also areoffering opportunities to train in DEXA scanning.

We are a friendly, diverse team, supported by a Superintendent Radiographer, two Deputy Superintendents Radiographers and an educational support radiographer who support the CPD needs of the department. This includes, but is not limited to an extensive QA program and opportunities for further development, offering a wide range of training courses. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new clinical skills and broaden your knowledge base within a compassionate team. We support newly qualified radiographers with a ‘buddy’ system, ensuring pastoral care is provided during your induction period and beyond.

There is an expectation to alternate between our three clinical sites; PRUH, Orpington Hospital and Beckenham Beacon.

The post holders will work autonomously and prioritise work in line with clinical need. They will be accountable for their own professional actions, operate within their scope of practice and will consult senior staff as and when necessary. They will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and will take into account the requirements of referring teams in the interests of patient care. They will be responsible for the supervision and teaching of students, assistant practitioners, junior staff and colleagues as appropriate.

The post holder will be a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with active Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. Patient centred care will be at the forefront of the post holder’s clinical and professional practice and they will demonstrate clinical skills that provide the highest standards possible.

They will exercise adherence to patient confidentiality legislation and maintain information governance standards at all times. They will be proficient in the use of the departments Radiology Information System (CRIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) associated with each patient episode.

The post holder will be able to work autonomously and demonstrate the ability to prioritise their work in line with clinical need. The will be accountable for their own professional actions, operate within their scope of practice and will consult senior staff as and when necessary. They will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and will take into account the requirements of referring teams in the interests of patient care.

They will be responsible for the supervision and teaching of students, assistant practitioners, junior staff and colleagues as appropriate. The post holder will demonstrate a level of competency in line with King’s Radiography Competency Framework and is responsible for maintaining their own personal development with support.

All staff are required to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient focused manner maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
