About our Team
The Lancet Production team looks after all aspects of page layout and print production of The Lancet titles. The team consists of Production Editors, Production Assistants, Illustrators, Quality Controllers, a Production Controller, and managers. This is a friendly, supportive, and encouraging team.
About the Role
A quality controller is responsible for ensuring all content in Lancet journals is published correctly and to house style. This is an important role that helps ensure that The Lancet journals are world leaders in their respective fields. Working alongside other quality controllers, the post holder will contribute to the success of our titles into the future.
Responsibilities
  • Proofreading figures, articles, editorials, correspondence, and other content for all journals produced by Lancet Production
  • Ensuring all pages are proofed, and passed, prior to publication
  • Understanding house style and ensuring that it is followed
  • Maintaining accurate records both within Excel, OneNote, and Intranet sites
  • Assisting the Origination Managers in checking made-up pages for house style
  • Liaising with editors at all levels to ensure smooth progress of Lancet publications
Requirements
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent English grammar and spelling
  • Demonstrate ability to understand house style, and ensure that it is used correctly on all products
