Following a full refurbishment, The Nova Cinema reopened in 2021 with the most up-to-date technology, brand new seating and decoration and an exclusive new bar; take a look at our 30 second tour video! Now we’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Projectionist and help bring the cinema to life.
You’ll assist the Head of Projection, and deputise for them in their absence. You’ll also work closely with the rest of the Projection team, the Front of House team, Marketing, and other departments. You will ensure the cinema is always at the highest standard of customer experience, that our core values are achieved and applied to the cinema experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Performing the role of Projectionist while on duty.
- Updating and maintaining equipment throughout the cinema, including projection and sound equipment, electric recliners, displays and speakers in the foyer and other areas of the cinema, and to carry out routine checks to ensure the highest standard is achieved, and to resolve issues when they arise.
- Setting up and running all technical aspects of live events, hires, which will take place in screens, the Nova Suite, and elsewhere in the cinema. Hire duties include ensuring that the hire space is ready, safe, and presentable, and maintaining the Nova Suite kitchenette.
- Being proactive in organising all content that arrives on site in a timely fashion, and promptly addressing any issues that may arise.
- Raising and keeping track of purchase orders for film distributors and any relevant equipment or servicing using our PO system.
