This new part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available immediately on an fixed term basis until 30 Sept 2026 in the Research Services Directorate.
Summary of the role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ‘SEACHANGE’ research project based in the Centre for Geography and Environmental Science in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. The project involves four leading scholars from the UK, Germany Denmark. The role will involve project administration for the SEACHANGE project which is funded by the European Research Council (grant number 856488). The project involves a structured and systematic approach to the reconstruction of marine ecosystem baselines to quantify the impact of anthropogenic cultural transitions on marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
The Project Support Officer will provide regular reports, coordinate activities relating to project delivery including research fieldwork, annual meetings, dissemination events and outreach. Other duties include creating publicity and dissemination material for the Project website.
The successful candidate will have excellent administration and organisational skills, with prior experience of event organisation. The ability to prioritise a demanding workload and to work independently is crucial. Experience of administrative support is required.
