The Role
We have an exciting new role to join our Portfolio Management Office (PMO). The Project Support Officer will provide support and for leading project management coordination activities. You will be assisting the Department and project teams with administrative and project delivery duties, supporting the completion of project deliverables within defined cost, time, and quality boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Arranging Portfolio Management (and programme/project) meetings, taking notes, recording, and updating actions, recording decisions
- Creating and maintaining document libraries, acting as coordinator for programme/project documentation including document version control
- Collaborate with Project and Programme Managers to log, manage and analyse the progress of projects using Microsoft Project, Excel, and our PPM tool
- Monitor project schedule and budgets and prepare progress reports liaising with key stakeholders
- Maintain and monitor risk, issue, assumption, and dependency (RAID) logs
- Prepare reports, briefing papers and other documents, ensuring they are submitted on time
- Support project financial management through the raising of purchase orders, resolving invoice queries and maintaining finance trackers
- SharePoint administrator for the department – creating sites, maintaining access permissions, and advising on best practice
About You
We are looking for a Project Support Officer who has experience in project work with knowledge of concepts for managing both Agile and Waterfall programmes/projects, preferably supported by project management qualification.
You will have experience of developing effective relationships, data collection and summarising information in addition you will also have strong organisation, and time management skills.
If you have excellent IT skills with all Microsoft Office products and familiar with collaborative working, IT solutions is desirable (e.g. SharePoint) we would love to hear from you.

Additional Information
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
