Job description
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for Project Planners to join our National Grid contract. The role can be based remotely and will involve travel to our West Midlands based office for meetings.
As a Project Planner, you will report directly to the Lead Planner and will ensure that individual project programme are developed, maintained and reported in line with client and MES requirements, with attention to constraints, budgets, safety and quality. You will also be responsible for collating and reporting activity completion and earned value data to support the commercial team, as well as key performance data for quality management purposes.
As a Project Planner your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and external parties to ensure a collaborative approach to project coordination
- Support with tender and pricing activities with the development of anticipated project programme, critical path analysis, procurement scheduling, and resource planning
- Plan, programme and monitor design, procurement and construction activities
- Take responsibility for coordinating all third party constraints, design, procurement and construction information into an integrated programme
- Make project team members at all relevant levels aware of programme risks, key issues and solutions in a proactive manner
- Provide support to the Lead Planner in identifying and implementing planning best practice
- Provision of reports and progress information to senior management and clients in line with MES and client requirements
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Demonstrable systems/tools experience - Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience of planning on a variety of engineering projects
- Previous experience of electrical transmission projects
- Previous relevant project management and costing experience within the HV electrical sector
- Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts or similar
- Able to facilitate and lead on the development of schedules with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record of project delivery and programme management
- Effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-functional team
