Part Time - 18.5hrs per week, Fixed Term - 12 months
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people leaving care to lead a development programme across the southwest region to level up the local offer to care leavers.
Each local authority has a duty to publish their offer to young people leaving care in their area, this would include support with housing, education, employment, transition, health, finance, and wellbeing.
As the project manager you will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating the project to deliver the programme outcomes.
The aims of the project are:
- To develop and publish a core local offer for the region that has been co-produced with young people to reduce inequalities for care leavers across the region.
- Share best practice and scale up opportunities.
- Work with public, private, and voluntary agencies to ensure commitment and guarantees for care leavers.
- Enable care leavers to access information regarding support services via a digital app. to reduce delay in accessing services.
- Increase opportunities in education, employment, and training, thereby reducing the number of care leavers who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET) across the region.
- Improve opportunities and access to services/resources in the areas of housing/independent living, leisure, financial support, emotional health, and wellbeing.
The role will involve co-production with young people and partnership work across the public, private and voluntary sector.
You will be required to adapt to emerging themes and areas of development and incorporate these into the delivery plan.
The role is hosted by Bristol City council but works across B&NES, Bristol, Devon, Swindon, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and the project is overseen by a steering group with representation from each Local Authority.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
