The opportunity
Project: There are a number of roles available providing support to Sellafield Ltd in the delivery of their major projects. These are all high value and complex projects with specific construction or nuclear related challenges. Due to the nature and their direct contribute to the overall delivery of the Sellafield Ltd strategy. The roles are based in Cumbria and Warrington.
The project manager will be embedded in the client delivery organisation supporting the delivery of a significant major project. As the projects are in the early phase of the lifecycle accountablity for delivery will likely fall within the studies and design stages.
The project manager will ensure planning and delivery is undertaken in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the project. To be successful, the individual will also need to be an active and practical stakeholder manager and commercial interface with our partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and execute the project or Project Execution Plan strategies within their contract or package of work.
Driving the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.
Monitoring and managing the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
Anticipating, managing and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identifying risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues.
Applying the principles of continuous improvement.
Ensuring that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practised as business as usual.
Interfacing with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of the best practice.
Ensuring that contract or package contractual requirements are fulfilled.
About you
We are accepting applications for all grades from Assistant Project Manager through to Associate Director.
You have a degree qualification in a related field and a professional project management qualification. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
Prior experience of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the nuclear energy sector or similar regulated environment is preferred.
