Job description
We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join our programmes which are focused on driving transformational change across clinical, research and educational activities to develop clinical-academic partnerships that will be influential regionally, nationally and globally.
The Project Manager will work across two clinical academic partnership programmes: ‘King’s Health Partners Neurosciences’ & ‘King’s Health Partners Diabetes, Endocrinology and Obesity’.
We are looking for an experienced individual who can support the enhancement of partnerships between basic scientists and academics in the university and NHS clinicians (including nurses and allied health professionals), to create new collaborations which drive the development and implementation of new technologies, diagnostics, therapeutics and pathways of care to improve outcomes for patients. The post-holder will work with staff from across the partnership to build clinical academic capacity and capability in research.
You should have strong analytical skills and an understanding of the health research environment/landscape, along with significant influencing and persuasion skills to engage with the wide range of teams and stakeholders across the programmes. Applicants should also have extensive previous experience in the NHS and/or academic organisations or similar relevant experience. Experience of working with the commercial sector would also be highly advantageous.
The Project Manager will be required to:
- Build a thorough understanding of the existing research portfolios and use this intelligence to support the development of a partnership ‘Clinical Academic and Research Strategy’ ;
- Set up, manage and implement agreed projects to support delivery of the above strategy;
- Facilitate collaborative meetings to improve line of sight between clinicians and university-based scientists/academics at sub-specialty level, and support the ongoing growth of these collaborative communities;
- Identify opportunities to work with external partners e.g. voluntary sector or primary & social care, commercial sector/industry partners, and international collaborators to maximise innovation and impact for the populations we care for;
- Contribute to the development of business cases or grants for funding, as appropriate, to either generate evidence or to roll-out proven interventions;
- Represent the Programme at relevant meetings and events or prepare presentations for the Programme Leadership at meetings with senior stakeholders.

The post will be expected to work across the partnership sites and some travel across the wider South East London region may also be required.
