Job description
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our management team and manage a project with an exciting client.
This role will be based at our Main office in Resolven, Neath and will involve frequent travel to and from Essex, England.
Job Summary:
Ensuring the technical aspects of projects are correct using advanced engineering skill to ensure the project is fit for purpose and meets the statutory requirements.
Coordinating the project plan and contract reviews, ensuring a detailed understanding of the project and that it remains on target for cost, quality, safety, time and scope.
Strong communication skills are required to liaise with both the client and colleagues to ensure success at all steps within the project.
Job Responsibilities:
General
- Leading the planning and implementation of projects.
- Ensure adherence to company and industry regulations.
- Ensure the highest levels of quality are met.
- Supervise and manage site projects, including budgeted hours, material costs and timescales.
- Generate project files with test sheets, work instructions and associated manuals.
- Conduct risk assessments & drive SHEQ excellence.
- Implement all corrective actions when required.
- Review and manage Departmental projects including performance.
- Maintaining strong relationships with customers in which customers are kept informed and engaged with Hornbill activity.
People Leadership
- Recruit, interview and orienting new employees in collaboration with the HR department.
- Leading by example, demonstrating the right attitude and work ethic for junior members.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance with regular feedback to employees with praise and areas of development.
- Motivating the team to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained.
- Set strategic long and short-term departmental goals, effectively communicate these to employees in obtain alignment and engagement.
- Sharing internal messages with your teams and feeding back to SLT regarding any concerns or future challenges foreseen.
Engineering
- Responsible for Managing Low Voltage installation work including Power distribution and Control systems.
- Responsible for Managing Hazardous Area Low Voltage installation work and Instrumentation installation.
- Responsible for Managing small bore pipework installations.
- Responsible for provision of Technical resources for Commissioning assistance and site Low Voltage Testing and inspections.
Financial
- Manage the departmental budget including forecasting, approval of spends and accountability for quarterly results.
- Effective decision making to both reach and maintain the required financial turnover.
- Business development including new project bids, maintaining customer satisfaction and encouraging growth and repeat business.
Key Skills Required
- Experience with working with Autocad.
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to think strategically in order to deliver both the company and departmental objectives.
- Ability to motivate and develop others and maintain high standards across the team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative working and problem-solving style to model effective engagement with stakeholders.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and apply a test and learn approach to drive continuous improvement.
- Creative and imaginative.
- Commercially aware and financially literate.
- High computer literacy with advanced numerical and analytical skills, to manage multiple data sets and drive insights.
- Collaborative and responsible.
- Able to address a significant number of diverse issues at once.
- Outstanding attention to detail and able to recall large volumes of data.
- Able to plan, prioritise and manage a heavy workload and delegate appropriately.
- Guide, lead, coach and motivate the team to meet their objectives and targets.
