Project Manager - Job Description
Rockfield invite applications for a Project Manager role with engineering and geomechanics experience. We are seeking junior and senior staff capable and interested in the application of geomechanics technologies to our varied energy focused capabilities. These range from fundamental research to wellbore, static and dynamic reservoir modelling, forward modelling and hydraulic fracturing along with our glass forming software. Rockfield has in the past 5 years been incorporating the Energy transition into our portfolio of engineering disciplines that we work on, including Geothermal, Carbon Capture and Storage, Hydrogen storage and others.
The primary role as a Project Manager will be to Support the Consultancy Director in operations and technical management of the Consulting department.
Technical work is often quite involved and requires a higher level of understanding of fundamental engineering principles and geomechanics and ideally a firm comprehension of the energy sector. Travel is required on majority of our projects whereby client relationships are held with high esteem. It is anticipated that travel no more than a few days every two months would be required.
In your role as Project Manager, the following tasks will be expected from the individual:
- Quality standards met

- Client’s expectations achieved
- Accumulative project value delivered
- Define project, schedule, cost estimate and produce quote for review
- Establish clear goals, milestones and schedule to achieve deadlines
- Identify project risks and propose mitigating steps
- Proactively resolve project issues and escalate when required
- Prepare presentations, technical documents and communicate to client
- Prepare and deliver internal and external training courses when required
What We Need From You
- MSc or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geomechanics, Petroleum Engineering, Math, Geology, Applied Geology or related field
- Affinity and interest in Geomechanics/ rock mechanics/ fluid mechanics/ rock physics
- Pro-active attitude to building effective relationships with clients both internal and external.

Rockfield retains all of its own Intellectual Property for all developments incorporated into its Elfen Numerical Modelling Software.
