Job Description
The Housing Growth Partnership (HGP) is an equity investor passionate about accelerating the delivery of new homes across the UK through investing alongside SME and regional housebuilders and developers across a range of residential tenures. HGP is a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) and the UK government, via Homes England. All HGP colleagues are provided and employed by LBG.

HGP has invested over £275m of equity to date supporting the delivery of over 8,000 new homes across the UK. Building on this success, HGP is now scaling up.
About the role:
As a result of our growth, we’re looking for someone who can join a team responsible for investing across the south west of England. You’ll need to focus on the origination and execution of new investments as well as managing HGP’s existing investment portfolio in the region.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the team to invest and manage HGP investments alongside housebuilders and developers across a range of residential developments and housing tenures. This includes private for sale, private rental (PRS/BTR), student and retirement living.
  • Assisting HGP in growing its profile across South West of England to drive the origination of new investments. This will require contributing to and delivering the regional origination strategy.
  • Supporting and where appropriate lead all facets of deal execution. This includes evaluation of development appraisals and financial analysis, deal structuring and preparing investment proposals, negotiation, due diligence and legal documentation.
  • Helping manage the existing South West investment portfolio which will require working with SME housebuilder management teams and external advisers to oversee and support the successful build out and sale of residential developments.
About you:
Essential skills required:
  • Relevant sector experience in residential property development and/or residential property finance (debt or equity) would be ideal but not a pre-requisite.
  • Financial analysis, including cash flow modelling and financial structuring encompassing debt and equity.
  • Able to scope and manage due diligence workstreams to evaluate each new development and support HGP’s investment case.
  • Ability to originate new opportunities through building and maintaining effective regional relationships across housebuilders/developers, advisors and lenders.
  • Adept in both internal and external stakeholder management to deliver results.
  • Effective oral and written communication at all levels and across different audiences.
Candidates could be based either in the south west or in London. The role will require travel to foster successful regional relationships; however we’re a client facing business and are advocates of agile working, so we’ll be pleased to consider applications from candidates wishing to work any flexible arrangement.
And in return, we will offer you…
  • Salary: £90,000+ depending on experience,
  • 30 days holiday and the option to purchase additional days
  • Private medical cover for yourself and the option to add family members
  • A generous employer pension contribution starting at 9% and rising to 15%
  • Various share schemes that you can join as an employee
