Job description
Since 2014, the FDM Ex-Forces Programme has helped over 800+ service leavers, reservists and veterans secure employment within the technology sector. We are a MOD Defence Relationship Management Gold Award holder and winner of the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards Employer of the Year for 2021.
We specialise in giving those who have served, the best possible chance of career success, by building on your military skills, experience and values.
A career in Project Management
As an FDM Project Management Consultant, you will learn the drivers of business change and how to initiate, plan, control and monitor the delivery of a project. We will help you develop or build upon your existing military experience and develop your knowledge of the Project Life Cycle, Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies and how to operate successfully in a commercial environment.
A supported journey into your successful civilian career
Designed by Ex-Forces for Ex-Forces, our renowned programme builds on the skills that you have gained during your time in the military by combining up to date and commercially relevant training with hands-on project experience with big employers. Throughout your journey, you will receive dedicated support from people who have been in your shoes and understand your background.
5-6 weeks fully-funded training
You will be trained in one of our FDM Academy centres (currently virtual) and, upon training completion, you will become a fully-fledged FDM Consultant. We’ll then connect you with a major company from our diverse client base where you will work on a series of exciting projects.
Whether you are a service leaver, veteran, or reservist, we are here to help you start a career in Project Management.
What we offer you:
- Full-time employment contract with FDM
- Up to date and commercially relevant training in our academy centres to equip you with industry skills
- Opportunities with global companies to get your foot in the door
- Support from our Ex-Forces team and network
- Career progression and guidance throughout the programme
- Two days per annum allocated to support military charities of your choice
- Opportunity to work throughout the UK and internationally
- Salary dependent on role, experience and expertise
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrable experience of leading projects
- Hard work and commitment
- Must be a service leaver, veteran, or serving reservist
That’s it. You’ve already got the skills we need for you to succeed at FDM, you might just not know it yet.
