Job description
We're looking for Project Manager Degree Apprentices to join our scheme for 2023.
Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship
Our energy sector is going to see more change and excitement than anything that has come before. The way that we use, and view energy is going through massive changes, with new technologies constantly being developed to help shift to a more sustainable world.
As part of this shift, projects will play a huge role in creating new schemes or products for our customers, as well as shaping and supporting the necessary internal changes we face as an organisation. As part of this scheme, you’ll be supporting how we work with internal and external stakeholders across all levels, to come together to deliver our customer and sustainability commitments.
As a company we’re committed to equal opportunities and actively promote a diverse and inclusive working environment, and fairness for everyone.
Here's what you'll be doing
A degree apprenticeship allows you to combine academic study at university, with practical skill-building in the workplace. As an apprentice, you will be employed by E.ON but will spend part of your time at university studying for a fully-funded degree.
As part of the four-year programme as a Project Management Degree Apprentice you’ll have the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experiences through working with a variety of teams through six-month placements across the business, whilst also studying part time for your honours degree in Project Management (BSc).
You will study for your degree through York St Johns University and during the four years E.ON will support you by providing a tailored internal development programme, to help you to attain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to successfully achieve your degree and apprenticeship, and to support your future career.
Throughout your time on the programme, you will be fully supported at E.ON by the early talent team, your programme business lead, your mentor and a dedicated buddy from a previous degree apprenticeship scheme. You will also be supported through the university.
As part of your degree you’ll look at subjects such as:
- Business efficiencies – how we work across functions to deliver for our customers.
- Maximising revenue and minimising business costs.
- Right people with the right skills for the future.
- Business structures so we are set up for growth.
- Developing solution concepts within construction and operations – meeting customer needs and business profitability.
- Supporting digitalisation projects through business readiness.
- Supply chain management, policy, and process.
- Delivering against commercial and contractual obligations.
What we need from you
- You’ll need a minimum of three A Levels at ABB grades (Btec DDM).
- You will also need a grade C/5 in GCSE Maths and English.
Here's what else you need to know
- This role is based at our Nottingham office, with requirements of company funded travel and home working.
- An initial starting salary of £19,350, with potential pay progressions throughout the scheme based on academic and placement performance.
- We have a market leading benefits package – it includes 26 days’ holiday plus eight bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, and the chance to choose from 20 flexible benefits, including the option to buy up to 2 weeks’ extra holiday.
- To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise you to apply well in advance. Our schemes attract great interest, and we may have to close a scheme early if all the places are filled.
- Due to the nature of this role a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check maybe required.
E.ON is committed to equal opportunities and actively promotes diversity, equality and flexibility.
