What you’ll do
Your role as a Radio Planning Engineer will be on ensuring that Vodafone achieves the best network design, performance and coverage KPIs in the UK market. This role will be in one of our Regional Radio Planning teams, allowing our marketing teams to differentiate Vodafone using these measures, in addition to keeping all existing customers satisfied within region and thus reducing churn.
You will be responsible for delivering 2G/3G/4G/5G radio design (site and BSC/RNC level) to meet regional coverage/capacity requirements, implement nominal plans and support technological future proofing and for ultimate site selection, attending multi skilled visits for BAU and NTQ sites.
You will be responsible for drawing approvals, configuration build in Cramer and producing impact statements for NTQ and ensuring that the regional radio network meets National Guidelines, supporting the optimisation of the Network and enhancing customer experience.
You will also be involved in supporting CODE (ECC) witness statements for tribunals.
Who you are
- Must have an excellent understanding of 2G , 3G, 4G and 5G radio network technology.
- Drive/Walk Testing Analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have experience on radio coverage planning (including planning tools like Atoll)
- Experience of local optimisation techniques (parametric and physical optimisation) and associated processes
- Experience of working as part of a team or virtual teams to meet challenging timescales
