As Hills continues to grow, we have an opening for a Forklift Truck Operator at our Headquarters – Skelmersdale site. The Forklift Truck Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate and relocate motor cars and vans around our site in Skelmersdale.
The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform general housekeeping and vehicle checking duties.
This role will suit someone with high levels of energy and ambition, who is extremely self-motivated and is capable of working with a degree of autonomy.
The successful candidate will have a high level of Fork Lift Truck knowledge and experience. This individual would have the opportunity to:
- Receiving/Put-Away: Unload inbound shipments safely and move the vehicles to storage locations.
- Quality: Ensure that checks are completed to each vehicle and accurately report any damage.
- Order Picking / Cars to Workshop: Use Warehouse Management System to pull picking reports and prepare each vehicle ready for the dismantling process.
- Loading: Efficiently move vehicles from storage areas onto Transporter / Trailers.
- Equipment: Load, unload and move vehicles using a forklift. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and conduct a pre-shift Forklift check.
- Stock Check: Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight control of vehicles are maintained. Assist in physical stock checks. Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times. Operate forklift truck within H&S guidelines and adhere to company policy.
Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Thorough knowledge of Operating a Forklift Truck.
- Must have positive can-do attitude.
- Must have strong work ethics and commitment to extra hours when needed.
Type of Position : Permanent / Full-time
Job Hours : 40 Hours per week
Working Days : Monday – Friday Hours of Work : 08:45 – 17:15
With ‘occasional’ overtime hours on Saturday mornings: 09.00 – 13:00
Holiday Entitlement : 20 days per Calendar Year, plus Statutory holidays
Rate of Pay : Competitive – Negotiable / Dependant on Experience
