Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven Regional Transport Partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About the role
Within the Bus Strategy & Delivery department, focused on the successful and efficient delivery of Bus projects and/or programmes of work, we have a great opportunity to join our Bus Strategy & Delivery team.
Managing all stages of Bus project lifecycle from feasibility to implementation, we are looking for the best talent to delivery on single or multiple projects under the remit of, but not limited to, School Transport, Network Analysis & Design, Bus Development and in relation to the Clyde Metro.
Working collaboratively across SPT, ensuring Bus projects are carried out in accordance with best practice, taking into consideration contract terms and conditions, agency agreements, SPT’s specifications, governance procedures and standing orders.
About you
You will have a degree in a relevant discipline, knowledge of the operational and legal environment of public transport including delivery of projects is desirable, an excellent understanding of risk management practices and procedures as well as best practice project management principles. You will have experience of the project management lifecycle and managing quality and change. You will have experience of providing written and oral reports on major projects, project briefs and working with internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong interpersonal, communication, administration and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. You must also have the ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities within strict time constraints.
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. The nature of this role may require you to work outwith normal office hours on occasion to support the operational requirements.
