The project, Disability Matters, is a major international programme that brings together disabled researchers and disabled people’s organisations from across the globe including Australia, Canada, India, Singapore and the UK.
We are seeking to recruit to a central role in the programme team - the Project Manager role - who will bring together this geographically dispersed team. You will join the wider Professional Services team in the Faculty of Social Sciences, and will be encouraged and supported to develop your professional skill set throughout the life of the programme.
The project manager will:
- Act as liaison for all Disability Matters team members - including academics and Disabled Peoples Organisations and link in with the Staff Disability Adviser.
- Provide input to the strategic planning and execution of the project.
- Manage the finances of the project, including budget forecasting, reporting and
- Organise online and face-to-face (UK and overseas) workshops, meetings, fieldwork, conferences, symposia and fieldwork.
- Plan disability access for all online and face-to-face activities over the UK and four other countries of the project; including identification and sourcing of specialist services and assistive technology, in collaboration with Professor Goodley.
- Explore the availability of assistive technology to support the empirical and knowledge exchange elements of the research programme working alongside the Principal Investigator.
- Support the ethical processes and recruitment of participants for all phases of the research programme.
- Support the recruitment of six Postdoc researchers across the UK, India, Singapore, Canada and Australia
- Provide management information and updates.
- Oversee data collection protocols and storage.
- Assist in the delivery of impact, knowledge exchange and engagement activities.
- Provide support on project communications, including development and maintenance of the Disability Matter website and Twitter account.
- Organise and publicise advisory board meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Promote equality and diversity.
