Job Description
In February 2021 Jaguar Land Rover's CEO announced the new global strategy, Reimagine: The next chapter for our unique business focusing on sustainability for our brands.
To accelerate our progress towards realising our Reimagine vision, we have formed a new team to develop our strategic approach to future battery supply.
Enabling us to capitalise on these opportunities, we are building a Tata Group Battery project team to develop our strategic approach to battery supply working across multiple organisations, both inside and outside the group.
We are seeking energetic, driven and talented individuals across all business specialisms to join us on our journey as we continue to leapfrog forward and to play an essential part in achieving our ambitions for sustainable future growth. The potential is incredible. Come and be at the heart of it.
Role overview:
The Project Manager (Construction) will play a key part in delivering the TATA/JLR battery programme. These are large-scale Engineering/Manufacturing builds that will test convention and eventually have a global impact on sustainable energy and how we utilise that. This role will form part of the team that is responsible for implementing the buildings and infrastructure that supports this programme.
We are recruiting for a number of roles across this team with all roles requiring a mix of strong operational capability and commercial acumen;
- Development & Design
- Infrastructure Delivery (incl 3rd party works and construction logistics)
- Building Delivery
- Fit Out Delivery
Initially the role will be Hybrid based out of Coventry but in time you can expect some travel due to the nature of the project.
What you will be doing:
As with the nature of starting any journey the role will evolve over time, at the beginning this role will include a lot of planning and development, getting us ready for the task ahead. You can expect to be doing everything you normally would in a large-scale project build but with the difference being you will also be driving the organisation from start-up/scale environment to a global powerhouse in battery engineering.
You will be performing all the normal tasks you would expect of a Project Manager but within a unique start up environment encountering and working through new challenges; typical day to day will look like the below:
- Managing project cost, scope and budget from inception to completion
- Supporting the planning element across different stakeholder groups and managing coms needed to deliver this
- Working cross functionally with stakeholders and also where applicable leading teams
- Ensuring accuracy across all project documentation
- Managing risks, issues, project governance, evaluating and implementing any lessons learned
What we will need from you:
With this role we need someone with experience of delivering large scale complex Engineering and Manufacturing builds (Great if in battery factory builds, but we are open) managing large teams (internal/suppliers/stakeholders) across different locations.
From a behavioral perspective you will be comfortable operating in a 'start-up' environment, we wont have all the answers and you will like to be the person that's finds them. The project is unique in its nature, so you won't be phased by new challenges that come your way and be able to take your team on that journey with you.
Technical Qualifications:
- Professionally qualified in programme/project management (e.g., APMP, MSP) or other built environment-related discipline (e.g., RICS).
