Job description
We are recruiting a Youth Project Lead for a Youth Company working on various projects in the Kirkby, Liverpool Area immediate starts. You will be working alongside an experienced team of Managers and Project Coordinators to deliver face to face programmes for Young people in the community.
Location: Kirkby, Liverpool
- Hours: 36 hours per week
What you’ll be doing as a Project Lead
Strategy
Ensure that programme(s) deliver against the Vibe mission and Theory of Change, and the needs of young people and funders.
Ensure young people are at the heart of all we do.
Delivery
Ownership of key areas of work to ensure that programme(s) is delivered in accordance with agreed contracts, budgets, objectives, standards, evaluation frameworks, and areas of compliance.
As directed by Operations Manager, play an active role in the business development of programmes, including research and development, budgeting, and securing programme commission and funding.
Deliver face-to-face programmes for young people.
People
Manage and coach direct reports to enable them to manage their projects.
Ensure effective people management direct reports, including - recruitment, development, performance management, discipline, grievance, and absence management.
Monitor and review the work of external partners and volunteers as required to deliver project work to ensure the effective performance of the contract.
Managing resources
Ensure all resources are in place to ensure delivery of programme(s), including physical and people's requirements.
Ensure that financial plans are developed for programme(s), and that programmes operate effectively within agreed budgets and annual performance targets.
Ensure programme(s) deliver on all areas of quality and legislative compliance e.g. Health and Safety and Safeguarding.
Contribute to developments in policies and procedures.
Monitoring and evaluation
Deliver evaluation processes, in order to assess programme performance under area of responsibility against agreed objectives.
Ensure evaluation reports are produced as required for programme(s) under area of responsibility.
Maintain a continuous review of programme(s) performance in relation to sector best practice.
Identify and deliver on areas of improvement for programme(s) e.g. structure, programmes, practices, policies and technology.
Building relationships
Manage and develop key partnership arrangements across a range of colleagues, agencies, stakeholders, funders and partners.
Connect young people with relevant organisations.
Review the needs of relevant stakeholders to ensure services are shaped to meet their needs.
What you’ll need to be successful as a Project Coordinator
Essential:
- Experience of developing and delivering programmes for young people.
- Knowledge and understanding of youth work principles and practice.
- Ability to prioritise, think creatively, and deliver high-quality results.
- Experience of managing staff.
- Experience of managing budgets.
- Experience of developing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and performance frameworks.
- Experience of developing and managing diverse stakeholder relationships and business development activities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a keen ability to listen to and influence a diverse range of people.
- Excellent IT and report-writing skills.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Desired:
