We have a fantastic opportunity for a Bid Writer to join our Secure Infrastructure – Work Winning team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. You will provide bid writing services to the bid team, accessing knowledge resources and the range of previous bids, to ensure the production of high-quality responses.
Bids will vary in duration, size and complexity: from a few weeks for a Framework Bid, through to multi-stage 18 month long negotiated processes, with contract values anything from £5M pa through to £150M pa.
The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday.
Work-life balance and flexibility are key for our success. We empower our people to make choices that are right for them, with hybrid, part-time and flexible work patterns. And with a network of offices across the UK, we’re open to discussing working options that suit you.
You will be responsible for:
- Producing high-quality, consistent and persuasive bid responses
- Contribute to PQQs and bids, drafting content and editing material, promoting the principles of ‘Plain English’
- Interview subject matter experts to produce compliant and engaging content, conveying technical information and solutions in a clear way
- Analyse client requirements including compliance and evaluation criteria to help maximise scores across all responses
- Input to answer planning/storyboarding workshops to help structure our responses so they are easy to evaluate and shape question content
- Provide structural, written and editorial services to bid teams with assistance from the Bid Manager as required
- Support development of value propositions and win themes which are aligned to the client’s ‘hot buttons’, and ensure these are articulated effectively throughout all our bid responses to help differentiate Amey’s bid submissions
- Monitor the overall quality of written content as it progresses, to ensure that it maintains a consistent ‘voice’ throughout
- Carry out final editing and proofreading of quality responses to maximise readability, consistency and accuracy
- Support the post-tender lessons learned process to help embed continuous improvement in bid writing.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Bid writing experience, particularly within a Facilities Management (FM) environment.
- A good working knowledge of public sector procurement and bidding best practise.

- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Excellent editorial and proofreading skills with good eye for detail
