A little bit about what we are looking for...
Within this role, you will deliver planned fire improvement works to PA properties ensuring that legislation and regulation requirements are met and that PA homes are kept safe for our residents.

We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; You will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training. It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too!

Your responsibilities...

  • Deliver the planned active and passive fire improvement works arising from the Fire Risk Assessments to all PA homes ensuring compliance with statutory duties, regulation and PA Policy
  • Project a positive image of PA Housing by providing an excellent level of customer service to all customers, including managing complaints within the relevant service areas for which the post holder is responsible
  • Working collaboratively with the Home Ownership team to ensure compliance with Section 20 consultation procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the Building Services, Health and Safety and Housing teams in relation to services under this posts responsibility
  • Inspect PA Housing properties to scope fire improvement works and prepare specifications in accordance with the block fire risk assessment, PA Fire Safety Standards and framework contracts
  • Provide project management assistance to the major Fire Remediation projects as and when required
  • Continually monitor and inspect fire improvement works throughout the duration of the works ensuring all works are completed in accordance with the specification, to a good standard and specified materials with the relevant certification are used at all times
  • Carryout monthly completed work valuations which feed into Keystone planned maintenance module
  • Authorise work variations up to the post holder’s delegated authority or escalate to the Fire Improvement Works Manager for authorisation. Record all work variations on Keystone planned maintenance module
  • Carry out handover inspections on completed works maintaining good records of all inspections
  • Have good financial cost control and financial management of fire improvement works this post holder is responsible for.
  • Ensure that Keystone Planned Maintenance module is used in the management and maintenance of all fire improvement works and Keystone is updated following the completion of works including component renewal information
  • Responsible for collating and retaining project documentation for the completed works, including photographic records, quality assurance check lists, specifications, costs and payment records, certification, cause and effect records and O & M manuals

Our ideal candidate...

  • Good experience of managing maintenance services within an RSL or private sectors
  • Knowledge in all areas of maintenance, building structures and passive fire safety components
  • Knowledgeable in fire safety measures, Active fire safety systems and fire regulations and related guides
  • Good experience of delivering and managing passive and active fire improvement works
  • Can understand health and Safety requirements


Disclosure and Barring Service:

This role of requires the successful candidate to complete a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check will show any unspent convictions.

So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit / support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.

Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for and what remedial action , if any, have you have taken since your conviction. Suitable references will also need to be obtained prior to commencement of employment.
