Aptive is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a background in business intelligence, knowledge management, and Federal Consulting. This position will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information Technology (OIT) in the Office of People Science (OPS). The Sr Data Analyst is the primary analyst responsible for capturing dynamic trends in customer service data, generating innovative and actionable insights from large datasets. VA's OIT requires support with compiling, translating, storing, migrating, and retrieving data to enhance the quality of their customer service. This role will serve as part of a contracting team assisting with research, reporting, focus groups, and ad hoc requests aimed at improving customer service metrics within OIT. In addition to managing quantitative data, the Sr Data Analyst will also be able identify trends and innovate opportunities for improvement where possible, while supporting more junior data analysts.
In this role, you may support the broader project team to deliver and maintain artifacts, knowledge management, SharePoint, PowerPoint presentations, and user manuals. You will creatively approach situations within the larger context of customer experience (CX) and service improvement, think critically about our approach and our work, and consider ways to automate solutions and enhance our efficacy.
This position is remote, with limited travel, primarily to Washington D.C. as required (less than 10%) per client request. The standard work hours are consistent with Federal employees (M-F 9-5 EST) and all Federal Holidays are observed.
Primary Responsibilities:- Participate in planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of multiple tasks and anticipate needs as driven by client requests.
- Work independently and as a valued team member in a diverse team of staff and subcontractors, supporting all components of ad hoc and day-to-day activities to ensure performance in accordance with contract requirements.
- Review, analyze and recommend changes to existing operations based on your research, customer feedback, and focus groups in collaboration with the team.
- Develop training and presentations, as needed, in your area of expertise.
- Manage knowledge through project documentation, reporting, and ownership of best practices.
- Be a PowerApps problem solver; manage updates and Dashboard management in PowerBI.
- Take ownership of products, delivering high quality, client-ready work across client and customer engagements while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI and SharePoint.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large data sets.
- Strength in teamwork; excited to collaborate with clients, understand business goals, recommend an approach, and deliver results.
- Be familiar with Government, Military or Federal organizational structures.
- Drive discovery sessions to gain a deep understanding of requirements, direction, and manage the appropriate platform to deliver adaptable solutions.
- Prepare and review analytical presentations and effectively communicate statistical and technical concepts to a variety of technical or non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree and several years’ experience in data analysis, preferably with large datasets or a master’s degree and at least one year experience in the same.
- At least 2 years’ experience leveraging analytical skills for engaging decision makers to reach solutions.
- Demonstrated operational success with RDBs, SQL, DAX, and Excel.
- Data analysis, Database Management, custom PowerBI Dashboards, and Python scripting.
- Experience generating flow diagrams, data table mapping, and automating solutions.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Proven communication skills with all levels of management, including executive.
- Experience translating insights from focus groups, as a member of a team, to support business insight or customer engagement strategies.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data in research.
- Fluency in Qualtrics survey administration and analysis.
- Experience working with the Veteran’s Affairs Department is a plus.
- Any of the following: Microsoft DP-300 or PL-300 or CompTIA Data+.
