Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Project Manager you’ll be an integral part of our delivery team representing our business as the face of North. You’ll need to ensure work is carried out on time, in budget, safely and to the high-quality standards. You’ll be working part of a team but managing both your daily work plans and that of our sub-contractor engineering to ensure best practice. You will need to be comfortable in delivering projects to budgets, attending internal and external weekly meetings with all stakeholders and produce reports and updates accordingly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning
  • Developing a comprehensive project plan that outlines the project's objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals
  • Create a roadmap for successful project execution
Team Management
  • Assemble and lead project teams, including assigning roles and responsibilities to team members
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and support to the team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Scope and Change Management
  • Define and manage the project's scope, ensuring that project deliverables are clearly defined and aligned with stakeholder expectations
  • Identify potential scope changes and evaluate their impact on the project, making informed decisions regarding scope adjustments and change requests.
Risk Management
  • Project managers identify and assess project risks, both internal and external,
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project's success
  • Monitor and control risks throughout the project, implementing contingency plans as needed.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining regular communication to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and manage expectations
  • Facilitate effective communication within the project team and across various stakeholders.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that the project meets the required quality standards by establishing quality control processes
  • Conduct regular quality checks, and implementing corrective actions when deviations are identified
  • Strive to deliver high-quality outcomes that satisfy project requirements.
Time Management
  • Develop project schedules, defining key milestones, tasks, and dependencies
  • Monitor project progress, track timelines, and make adjustments to ensure that the project is completed within the agreed-upon timeframes.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records
  • Generate regular project reports, highlighting progress, issues, and key metrics to keep stakeholders informed
Budgeting and Cost Control
  • Develop and manage the project budget, including estimating costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that the project remains within the allocated budget
  • Monitor costs, identify cost variances, and take corrective actions when necessary
  • Complete monthly forecasts and reviews
Qualifications:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • We’re looking for someone with a proven industry track record of project management with the defence sectors
  • Good Understanding of Defence specifications (JSP's)
  • You need high energy and enthusiasm for your profession with a strong emphasis on quality
  • A driving license and have a willingness to travel across the UK or overseas on occasion but working predominantly within a 90-mile radius of your home location
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of Project Management

  • Minimum SC level security clearance required
  • You are comfortable with computers utilising programmes such as Microsoft, Outlook and MS project databases and working with network hardware and wireless toolkits.
