Job description

Project Management To develop a strong understanding of the clinical pathways for patients being cared for within the treatment centre To develop a surgical strategy for the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Site, making optimum use of all facilities available and maximising productivity To work collaboratively and develop strong working relationships with the operational and clinical teams and act as an interface between the two. To research examples of best practice within the NHS and internationally to inform the development of the operational model Liaise with Theatres to ensure operating capacity is protected Liaise with Estates and Facilities to ensure areas meet the needs of service users, paying particular attention to privacy and dignity. Establish the information and reporting requirements for the service Liaise with other support services (e.g. pathology and radiology) to establish the systems and processes required to support the delivery of the service Respond to financial, resourcing and procurement queries and proactively follow up and track progress to ensure a speedy resolution to problems.

Liaise with key stakeholders to develop a communications and marketing plan to raise awareness about the redevelopment Project Governance Develop and maintain project plans under direction from the Project Board, identifying project activities, dependencies, resource allocation and timescales Chair meetings with healthcare professionals, Trust staff, commissioners and other organisations where required to support delivery of the project.

Manage all activities and tasks against the priorities and timescales agreed with the project team, ensuring the best use of time and resources. Maintain and update an electronic library of all project related documentation. Produce regular project updates for the Project Board and relevant stakeholder meetings. Identify, document and manage risks associated the project.

Identify, document and realise benefits associated with the project. Prepare project presentations and workshops in conjunction with the project team. Undertake regular review and audits of project processes, procedures and documentation to ensure the project delivers against the agreed criteria Ensure that all project documentation, agendas and minutes etc are available, recorded and communicated for all project-related meetings and activities Ensure that any issues that are blocking the progress of the projects and program are identified and escalated where required. Financial and Resources Hold responsibility for a project budget, ensuring close control of all expenditure in line with Trust policy and Standing Financial Orders, setting standards for the highest levels of financial propriety Ensure that effective business justification is presented for allocation of any required capital funding or increase in revenue budgets, developing and presenting business cases where necessary.

Ensure delivery against theatre productivity and cost improvement targets Constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency in the use of the available resources. Change Management In conjunction with medical and nursing leads, identify, coordinate and facilitate changes to working practices required to support the implementation of the service Ensure organisational structures support new ways of working Involve patients in establishing the service, using patient feedback to optimise the overall user experience Work closely with all key stakeholders associated with the project, including clinicians and operational managers, commissioners and other external colleagues to resolve any issues that arise during the implementation process. Skills To create an inclusive and collaborative working environment where diversity is valued, and to uphold organisational policies and principles on the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion Answer any general enquiries or complaints courteously and professionally, maintaining the requisite degree of confidentiality and sensitivity Participate in shared learning, ensuring continued professional development. Ensure all communication is presented appropriately, taking into account any possible barriers such as language, culture, understanding or physical or mental health conditions.

Be proficient in using MS Office for the preparation and presentation of reports, Board papers, legal contracts and correspondence, policies, letters, taking and producing minutes and memos, ensuring they are produced to an accurate and professional standard.
