Merkle is looking for an exceptionally talented digital and creative project manager with more than 3 years of relevant experience, minimum of 1 within an agency environment, delivering customer centric and results driven digital-based solutions within the digital experience, commerce and marketing space.
The role
The Digital Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing strategic and creative design & development projects within budget, timeline, and scope.
They will be a team player who can effectively monitor project objectives, deliverables and present updates to executives, clients and project team members alike. They will be adept at multi-tasking and have excellent communication & organisation skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Working closely with our in-house strategy, creative and technology teams, you’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating projects from initial pitch stage to delivery, overseeing all production elements including.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing projects throughout their life cycle: selecting the project team, scoping, planning resource, information gathering, budgeting, testing, and liaising with the client, taking full ownership for the approach, the delivery, and the project financials
- Creating the plan and leading the project team to deliver the agreed outputs/outcomes within scope, time, cost and quality constraints. Promotes the wider good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally and socially appropriate manner
- Design, develop and lead the project team on a day to day basis, appropriate to context and project stage. Clearly defines, agrees and delegates team and key stakeholder roles and responsibilities; empowers and inspires others to deliver successful projects
- Develop and agrees budgets for projects and control forecast and actual costs against them
- Establish and maintain effective governance and decision making for the delivery of projects; define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities, that align with project and/or organisational practice and requirements
- Develop, produce and maintain schedules for project activities that takes account of dependencies, resource requirements and constraints in order to enable the efficient realisation of project outputs and associated benefits
- Map project dependencies and identify owners, build dependency management into the project's governance cycle
- Act as an arbiter and enforcer and resolves issues between the various elements of the project
- Identify and manage pertinent project stakeholder relationships, communications and need for senior level support
- Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate
- Proactively Identify, addresses and seek to resolve differences between individuals and/or interest groups
- Act as the link between Sales, client services, delivery and the client
- Building and sustaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Managing complex digital projects with various clients simultaneously
- Identify and monitor project risks (threats and opportunities) and issues
- Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies
- Create proposals/sales quotations for clients, contribute to pitches and new business opportunities
- Develop a keen eye for detail throughout all areas of work and when providing quality assurance for client-facing assets
What we're looking for from you
Skills required include, but are not limited to:
- 3+ years professional experience of in a digital project management role
- Hands-on experience delivering creative and technology based projects, using proven delivery methodologies
- Strong experience in working with MS office tools and Project management tools
- A self-starter, motivated to take ownership of projects and drive tasks to completion
- Problem solving attitude, combined with analytical thinking and objective decision making
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills
- Agility and ability to perform in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
- Ability to manage own time effectively, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Enjoy working in a cross disciplinary team whilst leading by example and educating others on best practices in order to increase quality and efficiency
- Used to a fast-pace and pressured environment with rapid turn-around times
- Decisive and confident with strong attention to detail
- Experience working with virtual teams
- Agile methodologies and management tools (e.g. JIRA, Miro, Workfront) experience advantageous
