Project Manager
OverviewThe Cross-Border Programme Delivery Office are fundamental to achieving Mastercard’s strategic ambitions to expand in the payments space. We are seeking a Project Manager to work on one or more Cross-Border projects simultaneously, whilst embracing an Agile environment, demonstrating a flexible, can-do attitude within a freshly empowered and motivated community.
Role
Project Management responsibilities on any project:
- Manage the overall cross-functional coordination, status reporting, financials, schedules and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed time, scope and resource requirements as identified at the outset of the project.
- Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes within budget and resource constraints
- The Project Manager will seek to maximise internal client satisfaction and where appropriate aim to protect and maximise revenue streams or cost efficiencies associated with a project in line with stakeholder expectations
- May manage smaller project/initiatives as an experienced individual contributor with specialized knowledge within the assigned discipline
- Ensures methodology compliance, resolving issues (escalating if necessary), communicating with project staff, and monitoring budget and potential risks
- Will regularly communicate to management the status of specific project deliverables, and interact with clients (internal or external) as required
- Provides input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business
- Responsible for planning, developing, and executing project, escalating to the senior Delivery team or stakeholders as appropriate
- Effectively deal with and develop solutions to moderately difficult problems
- Provide coordination of initiatives and projects in partnership with business accountable leads
- Liaise with external third party suppliers, internal customers and stakeholders
- Have a basic understanding of any pertinent contract related to the project assigned and a broad understanding of any contractual or regulatory commitments that must be met
- Minimise any commercial or reputational risk on projects as directed by the product owner
The Project Manager must:
- Have experience working in cross-functional environments and on small to medium projects
- Have experience in an Agile or SDLC working environment
- Be a self-starter and a driver for process & continuous improvement within the team
- Have a strong commercial focus on activities that contribute to the performance of Mastercard providing measurable value to the business
- Accurately estimate and provide input into the forecast budget and resource demand as required
- Have a broad understanding of all contractual obligations and constraints
- Have experience of interacting with 3rd party suppliers and vendors
- Strong understanding of risk management
- Strong stakeholder management skills are essential
