Job description
Junior Analyst, Research Analysis - Thomson Reuters Institute (Remote)
If you are an outstanding and ambitious analyst, we are looking for you! Join us in the Research Analysis team in Thomson Reuters, a world leading provider of information services.
The Research Analysis team sits within The Thomson Reuters Institute (TRI) group, providing research and advice to some of the largest law firms in the world. The team is primarily involved in the analysis of our Sharplegal and Stellar Performance studies. Analysts in the Research Analysis team will get involved in the more data-centric stages of the research process as well as questionnaire programming and using our business intelligence tool.
Analysts receive training and support in each area and will begin to specialise in areas which are of most interest to them as they progress in the role.
Please note this is a remote position. London based candidates will work in a hybrid model from our office in Canada Square.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Junior Analyst, you will primarily focus on the creation and analysis of tailored insights for our law firm clients, but you will also be involved in most aspects of the research process including:
- Carrying out data processing and quality checks.
- Thematic coding of open responses.
- Transforming data collected into crosstabs to aid interpretation of findings.
- Comprehensive analysis of survey data.
- Questionnaire programming.
- Designing and implementing online dashboards for clients on our Market Insights platform using Qlik Sense.
- Considering interpretation of all analysis produced and advising Client Service Team to ensure results are interpreted appropriately. Using statistical significance tests to guide interpretation.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Junior Analyst if you are:
- A graduate with a 2.1 or above.
- Highly numerate – you need to enjoy working with data and interrogating it for insights.
- A problem solver with a logical, common sense approach. Someone who is prepared to take a proactive approach to making decisions and resolving issues and who can think laterally and creatively to add value.
- Someone who can make suggestions for process improvements and ways we can work more efficiently.
- Adaptable and versatile with excellent time management. You will often be working on several different tasks concurrently and will be expected to manage your workload and approach accordingly, as well as being able to work effectively during busy periods.
- Willing to take ownership and responsibility. We will provide you with increasing autonomy and expect you to be enthusiastic in taking on new responsibilities and challenges as your experience develops. You will have the support of more experienced team members but need to work independently.
- Someone with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Thomson Reuters prides itself on delivering high quality outputs to clients – being able to work at a high level of accuracy, especially during peak periods, is essential.
- A good communicator with great interpersonal skills. You will need to work closely with your immediate team as well as the Client Service Team.
- A quick learner - you will receive full training on all relevant software and systems so previous experience isn’t essential, but we expect you to get up to speed as quickly as possible.
- Previous experience in the market research field would be a plus.
- Experience using Askia systems including Analyse and Design would be a plus.
- Experience using a business intelligence tool, specifically Qlik Sense would be a plus.
