At Leonardo we are recruiting for a Project Manager within our Customer Support & Service Solutions (CS3) team. As part of our team, you will support Project Management activities relating to the repair of key assemblies within the RADAR and DASS systems on the Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft for several of our European customers.
Reporting to the Programme Manager and, as a key role within an Integrated Project team, you understand the importance of building a network and maintaining strong relationships in the overall success of the business and in achieving key milestones and deliverables.
You will be need to be adaptable and flexible with how you work, welcoming and introducing new approaches as you appreciate that what works today may not be what’s best for tomorrow.

What you will do
- As Project Manager you have responsibility for providing overall leadership, management and co-ordination of the project team. Authority and responsibility is provided from the Programme Manager for delivering the project to schedule, cost and quality.
- You will ensure effective communications to proactively encourage project delivery across all functional business areas to achieve quality and schedule within budget.
- You will proactively monitor project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
- You will identify and manage risks to the project, including the development of contingency plan.
- You will direct & manage the required support from the Programme Management Organisation (PMO) to ensure effective planning, risk management and configuration control.
- You will engage with Integrated Project Teams, Customers and vendors in line with level of accountability.
- You will conduct project reviews and make recommendations to appropriate business areas.

What we are looking for
- Degree or equivalent
- APM PMQ qualified or equivalent is desirable
- Understanding of financial controls and Project Financial management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams (Including, but not limited to - Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Operations) but also ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work autonomously
- Ability to prioritise a large quantity of tasks and to assign these effectively and work to a deadline
- Project Management, including the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders, create project plans, and manage these effectively alongside scheduling
- Demonstrated strong Customer and Stakeholder relationship skills
- Strong evidence in being able to collaborate with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders / functions
- A pro-active with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency and with a focus on achieving high performance against objectives
- Excellent computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications with experience managing projects in SAP
- Strong organisational problem solving skills
