Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler Rail, Switzerland. Stadler is establishing a reputation as a competitive provider of train maintenance services and has seen a number of successes since emerging in the UK in 2016.
In the next few years over 200 new Stadler trains will be joining the UK rail network. Our current depot locations are Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry.
We are looking to recruit a Stores Supervisor to join the team at Canton and Taffs Wells. Working within the UK Procurement and Logistics teams based in Liverpool you will support the business to implement innovation and advancement across the business. As a stores supervisor you will report to the Materials Manager and will be responsible for exploring risks and opportunities end to end to achieve the agreed business goals and KPIs.

YOUR TASKS
Personnel:
- Lead the materials handling team, providing the business with the contractual levels of performance including but not limited to; Safety, Reliability, Train Presentation, Availability.
- Support the business in ensuring tools and materials are available at the point of use to allow the business to provide trains as and when necessary, at all times meeting all criteria in the areas of product and people safety, reliability, environment and train presentation (interior & exterior as required). Ensuring industry, engineering and production best practice and standards, and at least as a minimum the contract requirements.
- Provide robust leadership through a base professional production delivery know-how and competency, people and product safety culture, coupled with a continual improvement mind-set and client and end-user focused attitude.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Technical, Production), Suppliers and 3rd Party Service providers to manage and challenge expectations to support collaboration and functional compliance for a seamless supply chain.
- Ability to balance between long term strategic focus and short term priorities based on team needs.
- Manage costs within operations & supply chain, ensuring that processes and systems are effective to meet our needs and deliver agreed service levels.
Organisational:
- Take a leading role in the development of a Warehouse and Stock Management Systems.
- Ensure all suppliers meet company's minimum required specification on acceptable material quality, especially with safety critical parts.
- Supervise overdue materials and parts with suppliers to effectively minimise any delays. Manage additional requirements and parts not normally 'kept in stock'. Ensure process in place to check for non-conforming products.
- Amendment of re-order levels to eliminate shortages to bill-of-material issues.
- Ensure the warehouse is in accordance with good practice.
- Supervise waste streams and by products from maintenance ensuring they are disposed of in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Arrange for prompt repair, replace or recalibration of tools and equipment used for maintenance.
YOUR PROFILE
Essential:
- Sound knowledge of material supply principles, procedures and practices
- Ability to implement strategies associated with warehouse and stock management
- IT skills in Microsoft Office and other applications used for stock management
Desirable:
- Ability to build personal credibility by demonstrating the organisation's values, building trust and proactively contributing to business success
- Experience of driving organisational change and successful implementation within the business.
- Strong team focus, proven ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Smooth relationships when difficult circumstances prevail and develop a culture of trust both within and outside the team.
- Previous experience of team management; possess the aptitude and interpersonal skills in order to further enhance effective team working.
- Demonstrable wide ranging business knowledge & experience
