About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver a project through the project lifecycle to Time, Cost and Quality KPIs for the Naval Systems (NS) Business Stream. As the Project Manager you will be managing a team of internal Project Managers, you must have experience in motivating individuals to maximise performance. Our Project Manager will support the Bid Team initially with Estimating Management labour costs developing project delivery structure and plans; then mobilising the new project ahead of contract award and transitioning to management of the project post contract award. As the Project Manager you will work with your team to ensure that the appropriate planning techniques to help identify project resource requirements are being managed and are available to functional managers. You will be working with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to ensure contract baselines, plane and schedules are maintained in line with agreed contract changes. You will also need to monitor project risk & opportunity, supporting team with regular reviews and communicating in monthly reporting cycle.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work within a business / programme environment, take full responsibility for project (contract) delivery, with a strong emphasis on subcontract management throughout the requirements, design and manufacture phase
- Creation and maintenance of project schedules and tracking metrics expedite tasks to achieve on time deliveries to budget
- Use appropriate planning techniques to help identify project resource requirements and manage availability with functional managers
- Efficiently deliver clearly focussed customer & company project financial and schedule performance reporting
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 5-10 years project management experience, responsible for contract values in the region of £50m
- Creating & maintaining resourced Project schedules (using Microsoft Project) and associated WBS/OBS/RAM
- Experience in finance tracking, control & reporting
- Experience working with supply chain managers to manage suppliers and subcontractor
