Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to lead & develop our successful Step into Care Pre-Employment programme and support the development of a social care academy for Greater Manchester, which is a key priority of the Adult Social Care Workforce Transformation Programme. This post is advertised as a fixed term contract to the end of March 24 with possibility to extend, dependent future funding.
This academy model will support the growth and retention of the current and future social work and social care workforce, developing and retaining skills, and enhancing recruitment and retention in a new era of integrated care to ultimately improve the lives of those using health and social care services.
The Step into Care Project Manager will support the Care Academy Programme Manager to:
- Ensure successful delivery of our planned Step into Care pre-employment programmes in partnership with the Workforce Education Association (WEA)
- Maintain and develop partnerships with other training providers
- Promote Step into Care to Social Care employers across Greater Manchester in order to support more local residents to fill social care vacancies
- Analyse programme data and feedback to continually improve the programme
We want people across all our boroughs to stay well, whatever their age, and whatever issues or conditions they might be managing. We’re bringing together all the different organisations that support people’s health and social care, so that services can join up and act faster when people need support.
Integrated care means starting with the person, understanding they’ll have different needs as they move through life, and connecting them with the right care.
We work with all ten Local Authorities, NHS organisations across Greater Manchester, social care providers, voluntary and community sector organisations, and national bodies to deliver these positive outcomes.
The Adult Social Care Workforce Transformation Programme seeks to put identified workforce priorities into action to create an integrated workforce facilitated to deliver excellent care and support, through enriched roles, increased aspiration and a common vision of providing first class, person-centred care.
