The Opportunity
We are seeking an Agile Project Manager / APM to oversee the successful development of our digital products. As the head of a cross-functional development team, your guidance will be crucial in navigating every aspect of the product development process, from inception to launch. Your mastery of Agile practices, Project Management processes, and facilitation skills will guarantee the production of exceptional software releases with consistent outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Planning and Management - Determine project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
- Team Management - Assist with team development by holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing any obstacles that may hinder their progress, utilizing organizational resources to improve their capacity for project work, and providing guidance and support for the development of team members.
- Product Owner Support - Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.
- Process Management and Improvement - Establish and oversee a clearly defined project management process and proactively lead efforts to continuously improve and adopt Agile Project Management's best practices.
- Team Building - Encouraging and empowering team members to actively participate and contribute to the project is of great importance. Maintaining a sustainable pace and ensuring that the team delivers high-quality outputs is equally essential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile, Kanban, and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment and deliver the business goals.
- A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies, including 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
- Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred.
- Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members, including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel.
- Balanced business/technical background:
- Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues;
- Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or another relevant field;
- Formal Scrum, Kanban, and/or Project Management training;
- Proficient knowledge of Jira Administration;
- Possessor of a profound grasp of business requirements, coupled with the capability to establish and uphold a strong level of customer trust and assurance.;
- Self-starting attitude and demonstrated capacity to spearhead software development initiatives and guarantee the achievement of set targets, objectives, and commitments;
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view;
- Organized, detail-orientated, and thorough;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels;
- Situational leadership and a strong inclination towards improving processes and mentoring others.;
