Job Description
Our esteemed multinational law firm client is looking for a Part-time HR Generalist to join their London office on a full-time permanent basis. This person will assist in the provision of an effective and efficient HR Administrative function, in line with Firm policy and current best practice, giving due regard to confidentiality and sensitivity. The HR team is responsible for supporting the Director of International Office Administration and London team and liaising with the Director of Human Resources and the HR Team, to deliver all aspects of human resource service to partners, associates and support staff in London.
Key duties will include:
- Manage the end-to-end employee life cycle including onboarding and orientation for new joiners and off-boarding for leavers and transfers
- Ensure all staff/prospective staff are eligible to live and work in the UK and maintain appropriate records
- Advise on and assist with parental leave administration
- Monitor and assist with the action of key dates (contract expiry dates, probation completion, reviews, PIP)
- Produce monthly reports, including manging the production and distribution of various monthly data reports
- Maintain personnel files and track absences (holiday, TOIL, sickness) via the firm's HR software, HR Toolkit
- Work with the Director of International Office Administration and Firmwide HR team to manage the administration of all health and welfare benefits
- Manage employee relations, including first line grievance and disciplinary procedures
- In collaboration with the Director of International Office Administration, manage the Secretarial team
- Conduct support-staff evaluations with relevant managers
- Assist with year-end salary and bonus administration
- Provide guidance to staff on firmwide policies
- Conduct research as directed
- Maintain strong working relationships with recruitment agencies, ensuring competitive rates/terms
- Manage the recruitment process fully by working with relevant manages to draft or revise job descriptions, engages appropriate agencies, screens CVs, schedules and conducts interviews.
- Test, screen and conduct first-round interviews for all secretarial and support staff roles
- Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activity
- Ensures all appropriate pre-hire procedures are followed (i.e. conflict checks, reference requests and background checks)
- Knowledge of GDPR
- Working knowledge of SRA compliance requirements
- Maintain CLE credits for lawyers and tracking throughout the year to ensure compliance
- Regularly review London intranet content and liaise with to the Director of International
- Office Administration and Associate Director, Client Relations on findings
- Assist with wellbeing and social initiatives
- Assist the Charity Committee with initiatives and fundraising
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong skills in HRIS, preferably UKG
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and will have solid HR Administration experience within a law firm.
