Project Manager
The role
Fugro’s Marine Site Characterisation Business Line has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team within the Geophysical Service Line. In this role you will be responsible for pre-planning, execution and co-ordination of operational projects for Geophysical projects. With assistance from Operations and technical support departments as-well as other service lines and Fugro personnel you will be expected to continually improve project performance.
Your capabilities and experience will assist in maintaining a competitive edge for further development, which can include identification of new methods and technologies to enable cost reductions and efficiency improvements. There will be opportunities to be involved in all aspects of mentoring and management of offshore teams within the projects you work on. Project focus will be on offshore survey workscopes, utilising a variety of Fugro assets, including remote solutions.
You will use your excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships internally as well as externally with our clients, to promote and improve our services.

Who you’ll be working with:
Reporting directly to the Project Delivery Manager, you will be working with the Service Line Team in Aberdeen and will also liaise with project and operations teams and Fugro Group colleagues globally. You will work closely with commercial colleagues during project kick off meetings.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Management of all commercial, operational and technical matters relating to the content of the project or contract;
- Provide budgetary control on all project costs; prepare, review and approve purchase orders and also invoices for prompt submission; recover costs from third parties where appropriate; deal effectively with any client invoicing disputes;
- Ensure fieldwork is efficiently planned; liaise with clients to ensure all parties are fully informed of mobilisation / planning arrangements;
- Ensure equipment and consumables selected are suitable for the work. Manage any modifications or changes that may be necessary with other departments;
- Provide a written contract notification to all relevant departments, and the project team; regularly attend vessel mobilisation/demobilisations or attend offshore worksite briefing if appropriate;
- Ensure project reporting is properly managed, and delivered, in accordance with the client specification, and document control parameters. Any variations must be documented and additional cost recovered as necessary.

- Problem solver, with excellent numeracy and attention to detail skills.
Desirable
- Project management experience (or experience within a similar role)
