Job description
The Frimley Diagnostics Programme is modernising the way diagnostics are delivered across our Integrated Care System. As part of this, we are working to build a network of Community Diagnostic Centres where patients will benefit from earlier diagnostic tests closer to home.
Our new centres will provide one-stop-shops for checks, scans and tests and have been backed by government investment.
The centres will help to achieve:
- earlier diagnoses for patients through easier, faster, and more direct access to the full range of diagnostic tests needed to understand patients' symptoms including breathlessness and cancer.
- a reduction in hospital visits for those who don't need to, meaning that hospitals can focus on delivering urgent and emergency care more quickly for those who need it.
- a reduction in the size of our waiting lists because we will be able to do more tests.
- a contribution to the NHS's net zero ambitions by providing multiple tests at one visit, reducing the number of patient journeys and helping to cut carbon emissions and air pollution.
The centres will be staffed by multi-disciplinary teams, including clinical and non-clinical staff, working across 7 days a week. They will have new, state of the art medical equipment and machines, and embrace digital innovations to facilitate the very best care for our patients.
