The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll support and enhance our customers’ defence and security capabilities and critical assets, meeting their requirements of value for money, increased availability, modernisation and flexibility within a wide variety of cutting edge programmes in the Mission Systems domain, covering a number of technical subjects, including complex weapon systems, state of the art communication systems and counter-drone technology to name but a few.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the definition, planning, monitoring and control of successful project delivery. You will manage customer interfaces and associated stakeholders. You will identify and monitor project risks then plan and implement effective responses. You’ll be accountable for planning and monitoring the project, submission of regular monthly performance reports indicating any deviations, corrective action taken and escalation of issue. Supporting the Programme Manager, you’ll help influence the team to ensure that we maximise value for the customer and our business.

Essential experience of the Project Manager:

• Commercially and financially astute
• Prior experience in a similar role in industry would be an advantage
• Team management experience
• Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making

This full time role provides hybrid working one day per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

Qualifications for the Project Manager:

• PMQ or PPQ (desirable) or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
