The Opportunity
A new challenging and interesting opportunity exists at this leading national M&E Contractor, based out of their Northwest regional office. You will be working closely with the Senior Project Manager in a small team, have responsibility for the profitable management and delivery of projects and small works delivering on time, to budget and meeting both quality and safety standards.
The Position
- The role will involve running multi discipline projects, Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric. Core skills will however be mechanically biased, mainly from £25K to £500K
- Organising and conducting pre-construction planning and programming activities and construction techniques that improve productivity
- Producing and agreeing works programmes
- Ensuring prompt preparation, submission and agreement of the final account
- Analysing all possible opportunities to improve purchasing arrangement to effect contract savings
- Ensuring Project and Site Teams are adequate and suitably qualified to undertake their duties including all Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records of communication and job progress
- Maintaining a close and professional working relationship with client’s/contractor’s representatives
- Ensuring the contract hand-over phase is adequately conducted, in accordance with the Company and/or client procedure
- Ensuring the Project and Site Teams are fully aware of and clearly understand both the Company’s and Project Team safety requirements and that they are adhered to
- Organising and conducting pre-construction planning and programming activities and construction techniques that maximise productivity
- Ensuring planned site activities are efficiently carried out, with particular attention being given to the planning and control of labour resources and storage, control and utilisation of materials
- Ensure all resources are available and maximised to deliver the project on time, to specification and quality, efficiently and professionally
The Person
- A proficient knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Experience working in a similar role in the contracting industry.
- Experience delivering installations of HVAC plant and equipment in Commercial, Healthcare or Public Sector environments.
- An Engineering qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical Service
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings
- Must be able to survey, specify and quote works. Also to write technical reports.
- Apprentice trained initially, good industry experience.
- Practical with hands on experience of delivering projects.
- Flexible with an ability to manage multiple projects/small works simultaneously.
- High level of communications, control, organising, motivational and management skills
