Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager (Chartered or Post-graduate)

The Opportunity

We have an immediate vacancy for a QS/PM Role (Quantity Surveyor /Project Manager)

Affinity Design and Management are an integrated Design and Delivery practice offering a one stop solution. We work across many sectors including Schools, NHS, Custodial, Office, Retail, Residential and Conservation.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

• Preparation of regular reports to clients on all aspects of the project including progress, programme, costs, risks and quality management
• Prepare monthly valuation reports as necessary
• Client liaising and chairing meetings throughout the project life cycle
• Interview and select contractors for tendering or negotiation, evaluate tenders received and contractor appointment
• Value and authorise payments to contractors
• Monitor the contract progress, assess and report any changes that may affect project costs or time scale
• Re-evaluate changes within project scope and update records accordingly
• Assist in the control of individual contract budgets

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in Quantity Surveying and Project Management
• Relevant qualifications or work experience
• Strong IT skills and proficient with learning new systems and the use of MS Office
• Presentable and client facing with a positive, professional attitude
• Methodical, organised and detail orientated
• Ability to work accurately and keep to strict deadlines
• Must be flexible in hours of work, travel and hold a Full UK Driving Licence
• A high degree of self-motivation and time management
• Team player with the ability to work on own initiative
• The role is based in Stoke on Trent
