Basic Qualifications
Candidates should be 18 years or over before the start date and have the right to live and work in England
  • For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
  • Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
  • Be a resident of UK for the entire duration of the program
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2023 or later
  • Have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English C/4 or above or equivalent. And have 2 A levels or equivalent

Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.

Key job responsibilities As a working student your primary focus is to complete your studies by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviors to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and hiring team to support your studies. A day in the life This role is suitable for someone who identifies as a problem solver and enjoys to take ownership and responsibility of their area of work. This role will require you to have good planning, organization, leadership, management and communication skills. You will utilize resources with suitable skills, qualifications, experience and knowledge to work together in a motivated and integrated team, with clearly defined reporting lines, roles, responsibilities and authorities. You will work alongside the team supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers. you will learn to support and lead projects and have the opportunity to innovate and simplify from day 1. You will work on projects gaining exposure to internal and external stakeholders. You will also be exposed to partnering teams across the organization working with program managers who help deliver end – to – end delivery of big, small and complex projects successfully. As a Project Manager Apprentice at Amazon, you’ll gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills. You will work towards the L6 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship standard on top of this you will also work towards the L6 BA or BSc Honours degree in Project Management. You will build your skills over a 36-months period, starting in September 2023, which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of; • Classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge • On-the-job training at your Amazon base location – either within a corporate office or in an operations warehouse • Online learning • Mentoring from our experienced team members Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills and document writing. You will work alongside the team, supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers. The on the job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualification(s). Once you have successfully completed your Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business. You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship, workshops will be a mix of face to face and online delivery by a training provider. You will also attend internal workshops/ trainings to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and location of the training provider you may be required to travel and stay overnight. (costs will be supported by Amazon). The Working Environment You will be working in either one of our operations warehouses or at one our corporate offices both of which are incredibly fast paced and dynamic, successful candidates will therefore be required to maintain a flexible approach to change and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, which will allow you to thrive in either of these environments. About the team Amazon is the perfect place to start your career as a Project Manager, where apprentices can work across a number of tech and non-tech teams working with program managers who help deliver end – to – end delivery of big, small and complex projects successfully. The successful individual will work with a broad set of stakeholders including internal teams, vendor managers and account managers as well as external stakeholders such as selling partners.
