Brief Description
Anglia route is looking for their next Project Management Assistant. You will support the project manager in the everyday management of projects for which they are responsible, in accordance with company standards and change governance principles.
About the role (External)
Every single day will provide new opportunities and challenges including:
- Provide a professional, consistent and effective project management support service within Shared Services in accordance with Network Rail and Route Services governance processes and standards.
- Maintaining and driving credible plans updating key partners on progress. Tracking actions of the full lifecycle of the project through to delivery.
- Proactively support the Project Operations Manager in running the full suite of Shared Services projects.
- Build and handle relationships with business representatives and partners.
- Act as the primary support point of contact for all shared services projects supervising all issues and working with the Project Operations Manager to certify all issues and concerns have mitigation.
- Develop and integrate effective support systems to enable the Project Operations Manager to run and control change.
- Develop / continually improve relations with key partners, work with the Project Operations Manager to embed a customer centric culture.
- Operate within the pre-agreed control framework within projects, demonstrate a control mind set. Continually review the local framework for adherence, where gaps are identified take personal ownership to define, socialise and embed improvements. Work with all parties to reduce risk and the cost of control within your team and the wider centre.
- Support the Network Rail better day every day initiative by highlighting areas of potential improvement at the daily / weekly focus groups.
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- Working towards or willing to work towards gaining a Project Management Qualification (e.g. PMI, Prince, MSP, Agile, APM Project, PFQ)
- Knowledge and experience of supporting projects through to delivery
- Outstanding customer focus/engagement/partner leadership skills
- Validated influencing, networking and partner engagement skills
- Organised and self-starter with a keen eye for detail
- Experience working at a senior level within a multi-layered organisation
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
It's not essential, but we'd love it if you have:
- Occupational knowledge of shared service subject areas
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- ORACLE eBusiness Suite experience
