We’re looking for Factory Quality Team Leaders to join our friendly team based in Crediton. You’ll be integral in driving Quality Culture and providing Quality Assurance to ensure high levels of technical integrity.
Hours for this role are averaged at 42 hours per week and the working pattern is based on 12-hour shifts rotating across a continental shift pattern which includes days, nights, and weekends within a 4-week cycle.
The role is based at the factory in Crediton, with occasional travel to the Distribution Centre in North Tawton and is expected to be at least 80% focused on the factory floor, with up to 20% supporting the Lab function activities.
Factory Quality Team Leader responsibilities include:
- Provide a leadership role in the technical function, being a point of contact for technical support for the operations and technical teams whilst ensuring site and quality standards are met in line with business and customer requirements
- Ensure Factory GMP and hygiene standards, product quality standards, record keeping, general audit requirements and customer code of practice requirements are met for all production
- Monitor adherence to site systems and procedures
- Validation and inspection of all CIP and COP activities on site
- Lead investigation of quality issues and customer complaints by organising any testing and product analysis in support of the wider teams in root cause and corrective actions
- Support New product launches and recipe or packaging changes through participation in briefing sessions & supervision of new packaging roll out during shifts
Factory Quality Team Leader requirements include:
- Formal qualification to HND standard or above in Food Technology or related discipline, or alternative relevant chilled food factory experience (minimum 2 years). This experience could be in an operational role
- Level 3 HACCP certified
- Basic knowledge of food legislation and microbiology
- Knowledge of BRC 9 requirements
- Strong numeracy skills – GCSE (or equivalent) Maths
- Strong co-ordination, planning & organisational skills and ability to work within time constraints
- Good emotional intelligence and self-awareness
- Full driving licence
