WHAT TO EXPECT
We are searching for a Paint Facilities Project Engineer. You will be a part of the ME Paint Engineering team based at Halewood. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the introduction of new facilities, materials and equipment into the Paint shop.
You will work closely with our internal customers to provide support at all levels. You’ll be part of a team of facilities engineers that will be working to introduce new paint facilities and refurbish existing equipment to prolong its usable life. You will also be responsible for the introduction of new Paint technologies to meet our external customer expectations.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Develop and manage engineering solutions facility concepts and specifications to meet process and production requirements- Manage projects from feasibility through installation, commissioning and handover to the customer
- Develop the project schedule with the planning engineers and other departments, plan and execute facility projects using master schedules and other project tracking tools
- Manage contractors following JLR Control of Contractors procedures
- Be responsible for all aspects of Capital Expenditure Project tracking focusing on Product & Non-product related expenditure
- Contribute to the management of all Health, Safety and Operational Risk Management processes and site-specific processes
- Lead multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases
- Ensure the Production facility is ready for processing the new model from the prototype type phase
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
As a Paint Facilities Project Engineer, you will have previous project management and engineering experience within Manufacturing operations. Experience within a paint shop environment is advantageous. You’ll also be confident with HSE & Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).
You’ll have experience in proactive delivery, commitment to agreed deadlines and be a problem solver. Your approach will be methodical and accurate, working within the guideline of the ME procedures and processes. Being a strong communicator, positive & confident, you’ll be working with other Jaguar Land Rover departments, suppliers and other organisations and will be supporting or chairing meetings with these customer groups.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential –
Project management or engineering in a manufacturing or construction environment- An understanding of CDM regulations & site safety standards and procedures
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy of information. Data-driven decision making
- Self-driven with a proactive mind-set, requiring minimal supervision of tasks
- Strong organisational skills and focus on the delivery of objectives
- Must be flexible regarding working hours to deliver the departments’ objectives & targets
- Excellent communicator – providing clear written and verbal instruction on requirements
Desirable –
An appreciation of automotive painting processes- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
