Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer Co-Op on the Robotics team, you will directly support the robotics engineering team including both hardware and software. This position will prepare you for the responsibilities in both sustaining and new product introduction, as well as expose you to the other aspects of product design and lifecycle management including operations, product management and sales. You will be assigned to lead at least one major project during your time at Globus that will be presented to upper management at the end of your internship, and you will be involved in multiple smaller projects as well. These projects may include:
- Assisting with the creation and organization of the Design History Files (DHF) for each project
- Developing use cases for new product specifications
- Performing design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specifications
- Collaborating with supply chain and manufacturing for component evaluations production line support
- Researching the market to understand the competition and benchmark technology
- Optimizing internal processes to improve efficiency
- Partnering with engineers and product managers to support all aspects of various projects
Qualifications and Requirements:
This person needs to have strong self-starting qualities to independently manage coordination of multiple projects to ensure timely completion of tasks. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, communications, organization, flexibility and sound judgment.
- Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong self-starting skills, well organized, detail-oriented and capable of working in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
