In Structural Heart, our products are used to treat/in the treatment of patients with Heart Valve Disease (aortic, mitral, pulmonic and tricuspid), with responsibility for Transcatheter Aortic Valves (TAVI – Evolut platform) and Transcatheter Pulmonic Valves (TPV – Melody). There is a constant focus on innovation, with significant investment in R&D and therefore a strong product pipeline, with several new products/therapies over the coming years.
Within the Structural Heart Operating Unit, our customers are clinical and non-clinical, and mainly (but not exclusively) within the Interventional Cardiology speciality in large tertiary centres or centres with referral links. They include Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, cardiac cath lab managers, theatre managers, specialist nurses, directorate managers and procurement.
A day in the Life
- Direct sales responsibilities for Scotland and North East for both TAVI and TPV/Melody & achieve agreed territory targets, focused on sales and market share growth.
- Identify and address all key decision makers (clinical, non clinical), key opinion leaders and key referrers in all accounts on the territory
- Build strong and lasting business relationships with all levels of stakeholders
- Train and educate relevant hospital staff on Medtronic Structural Heart products, using Medtronic resources in the most effective way
- Provide technical support and training to implanting team
- Conduct and monitor asset management of consignment and all other stock levels according to guidelines
- Create a territory business plan to maximise sales from product introduction, presentation, contract negotiation to completion of invoicing
- Work collaboratively across SH, specifically with the Technical Consultant team, Cardio Vascular team, Strategic Account Manager and support functions
- Prepare and report a variety of status reports
- Attend all required regional/national/international meetings
- Medical Device sales experience
- Proven track record in sales (including theatre/implant support experience)
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Full driving license
- Bachelor or Masters degree
- Previous Cardiovascular/Cardiology/ Interventional / Cardiac/ Surgery experience
