SUMMARY

The Engineering Liaison position is responsible for learning the plant site, procedures, programs and organization and interfacing with work control to ensure alignment with engineering products and the work implementation schedule. The Engineering Liaison will support normal and outage station schedule adherence and milestone achievement by communicating between organizations on needs and expected completion times for activities related to support for the operation, maintenance and testing of plant systems. Additionally, the Engineer Liaison will support the Condition Report Screening Committee meetings and incoming Condition Report review meetings and report to appropriate organizations the desired need date for products to either address emergent technical plant issues or improve plant equipment and serve as an advocate for improving overall plant performance and reliability while acting as the technical conscience for the station to maintain the design basis of the plant. Proficient technical communication skills are essential.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, an Associate’s Degree in an Engineering Technology with 3 years relevant experience will be considered.
Without a degree, six (6) years of experience in any one or combination of the following is required: Engineering, Work Control, Maintenance and/or Operations with minimum of 4 years at South Texas Project.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

PLANT ENGINEERING/ WORK CONTROL INTERFACE SUPPORT:
Provides support for engineering personnel regarding the approved work schedule and incoming CR reviews.

  • Provide input at engineering alignment meeting
  • Attend and provide input at CRSC meeting
  • Attend and provide input at the work week review meetings and communicate issues with appropriate engineers/supervisors
  • Attend and provide input at outage scheduling and outage director meetings as required
  • Monitor outage milestone dates to ensure special milestones are established if needed and communicate progress.
  • Support investigations and reports for apparent or root cause analysis and generates recommendations for corrective actions as required.
  • Reviews and evaluates industry documentation and event reports for relevant application to STP and identifies appropriate correction actions.
  • Provides mentoring and training to co-workers.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and interface with all levels of personnel required.
  • Knowledge of design, operations, maintenance, and testing, preferably nuclear power.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.

Engineer Principal/Spec Principal

EXPERIENCE

  • 12 years or more engineering, maintenance, or operations experience in which five years is nuclear power related (Required)
