As a Field Exam Work Supervisor within PNC's Financial Services UK Limited, within PNC Business Credit, you will be based in the UK.

This position will reside in the United Kingdom and PNC will not assist with relocation or sponsorship of non-local candidates.

Job Description

When needed/required, coordinates, reviews and distributes Field Examinations and Reports on existing Borrowers, that (i) highlight germane findings and material variances found coupled with related recommendations for improvement, (ii) are consistent with established credit quality control standards and with PNCBC policies and procedures and (iii) are within budgeted requirements. Acts as Field Exam Manager in their absence and assists during high volume periods. For less complex examinations, works with the Scheduling Coordinators to properly staff Recurring Business Field Examinations based on Field Examination size, complexity and the individual Examiners experience level as well as to maximize the overall groups productivity and efficiency. Reviews the schedule regularly to anticipate any changes that may be necessary. Assists the Recurring Business Regional Field Examination Manager on Special Projects as assigned.
Prepares the Field Examination Reports and supporting workpapers on the most complex recurring exams, new business exams and Exit Credits exams. Such reports are utilized by Portfolio Management and/or Credit Approval Committee to make informed credit decisions. Ensures that the Field Examination due diligence and related reports clearly evaluate the integrity of the collateral that is used to secure the loan and accurately identifies the credit quality of such collateral. Validated that the borrower is reporting collateral values and ineligibles/ reserves accurately to protect the bank from advancing funds in excess of the actual collateral value. Recommends reserves for any potential collateral shortfalls.
Assist the Recurring Field Exam Manager with mentoring, training and developing new and less experienced examiners. Assist with recruiting/hiring/on-boarding of new examiners. Provides examiner specific training to new or less experienced examiners as well as with the Field Exam Manager and on-site field training on any new/revised exam procedures when required. Evaluates junior / new field examiners progress and reports such to the Recurring Field Examination Manager accompanied by suggestions for skill growth. When necessary, reviews Field Examination reports and workpapers performed / completed by less experienced Field Examiners and offers in depth advice for improvement and skill growth prior to report submission to the Recurring Field Examination Manager.
While either in the field or during the review process, detects and judgmentally communicates deteriorating collateral or financial situations, suspected fraudulent activity, or any other potential weaknesses which place the Bank's assets at risk to the Field Exam Manager.
On occasion, communicates and escalates significant exam findings, concerns, delays, or borrower limitations to lending and credit personnel after consultation with the Field Exam Manager. Identifies and reports matters related to significant collateral risk. Will support and review Field Examiner recommendations as it relates to the collateral supporting the loan and/or issues and concerns that are raised during the Field Exam due diligence process. When necessary, participates in meetings with members of the deal team (FEM, Relationship Manager Field Examiners, Appraisers, Underwriters, Business Development Officers, and Credit Policy Manager) and/or existing or Borrowers representatives (typically the CFO, CEO and/or Controller of the company) to discuss any major collateral issues/areas of concern.
Primarily manages the due diligence process and directs the daily progress of field work performed by the Field Examiners including both internal employees and/or outsource Field Examiner vendors, to ensure all assignments and duties are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Trains junior and new Field Examiners. Evaluates junior / new field examiners progress and reports such to the Recurring Business Regional Field Examination Manager. When necessary, reviews Field Examination reports and workpapers performed / completed by less experienced Field Examiners. Assists the Recurring Business Regional Field Examination Manager on Special Projects as assigned.

Training And Development – Knowledge of employee training and development methodologies and ability to ensure that a target population has the knowledge and skills required to meet both tactical and strategic objectives.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. At least 3 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
